Charity is an integral part of every community, and donors are increasingly using Charity Navigator to help them in identifying charities to fund. Interested donors can log on to the website to help them research and analyze the organization they feel would spend their donation most appropriately. Here are three charities that are involved with Charity Navigator.

Islamic Relief USA

The idea of giving, especially helping those in need, is entrenched in Islam, and Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) strives to alleviate hunger, diseases, illiteracy, and suffering regardless of race, creed, color, or religion. IRUSA, located in Alexandria, Virginia, is a non-profit organization founded in 1993 when a group of people saw suffering in the world and wanted to help. In addition to alleviating the suffering caused by poverty and restoring dignity in the world, Islamic Relief USA also finances domestic projects such as assisting the homeless population, supporting those who are unable to afford basic healthcare and responding to emergency disasters. In 2016, IRUSA was rated four out of four stars by Charity Navigator.

Doctors Without Borders, USA

Doctors Without Borders, USA is an independent humanitarian relief organization founded in 1990 in New York. The organization is best known for providing emergency medical aid to regions affected by manmade and natural disasters. In 1999, Doctors Without Borders, also known as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), received the Nobel Peace Prize, one of only a handful of times when the prize was awarded to an organization instead of an individual.

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross (ARC) or the American National Red Cross depends on the generous contributions of blood, money, and time from the American public to support its lifesaving services and programs. Founded in 1881 by Clara Barton, ARC has been dedicated to preventing and alleviating suffering in the face of emergencies in the United States and around the world. The American Red Cross is the designated United States affiliate of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and is ranked second among the most followed charities in Charity Navigator.
